Former resident at Hillsboro, Mrs Margaret McBroom, 74, Kankakee died at 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept 22, 1940 at her home. Daughter of Henry and Martha Laird, she was born in Crawfordsville and after her marriage to Andrew McBroom, lived at Hillsboro until 1903 when they moved to Kankakee, and Lance and Warren both of Los Angeles, three daughters, Mrs. Opal McGrew, and Mrs Ruth Irwin, both of Kankakee and Mrs Catherine Newhouse, Los Angeles; a brother, EM Laird, Crawfordsville Funeral services will be at 1 p.mm. Wednesday at HIllsboro Methodist Church. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. - kbz
